Tessa at the marina aboard Lollipop

I just spent a few days on the boat Lollipop while docked at the marina.  The marina was interesting.  My dog-mom and I spent lots of time walking up and down the dock from the boat to the dirt.  She said she had over 17,000 steps one day.  I judge places by their smells, and this place was exciting.  I’d say a strong fish smell with hints of turtles, smelly men, fuel, and birds.

One day I stopped and looked in the water to see these animals moving around in the water.  There were lots of them.  I’d jump in and get them, but I’m afraid of the water.   On one of our dirt walks, I found some eggs that smelled like young turtles.

Every day that I spent on Lollipop, my people made it easier for me to get around.  They put strips down on the steps so my paws would not slide.  They put rugs on the floors for me to walk on and take naps on.  I am learning how to jump to get off the boat.  I have to trust my person to catch my back end and put it on the dock.

Everywhere we walked, I received lots of attention and pets.  A lot of people said they used to have Irish Setters.  That did not surprise me; we Irish Setters are the best dogs.

One night a storm blew in, and the boat moved all around for about 45 minutes.  I heard the captain say we had up to 30 mph wind gusts.

I think I am getting more comfortable being in Lollipop. However, I still don’t like it to move or make loud engine noises.
