It’s Happening

Yesterday, Thursday, October 14, Carlos brought Deb and me to Guntersville, where we provisioned, paid state registration fees, had our MSD inspection.

Today I have checked us out of Alred Marina and completed some small chores on the boat. See the photo of our new American flag on the stern.

I installed the NEBO module under the dash and repaired a broken wire to a floodlight on the mast. I also topped off the water tank and gave a tour of Lollipop to some marina neighbors, and toured their Mainship 350.

The new journey begins in the morning as we leave Guntersville, which we love, and head to Decatur for the night. Sunday morning will find us heading the last few miles to Joe Wheeler State Park Marina for the AGLCA Fall Rendezvous. More soon.

For decades I have read boating magazines and dreamed of making The Great Loop. I have studied specs and knew what I wanted in a boat. I guess the timing is never perfect, but my wise dad told me to “travel before I get too old to travel.” So here we are about to embark on the trip of our life.
