At the end of the alternator upgrade post, I did not know how things would work out until we had anchored a few times. Well, south Florida provided weeks of anchoring. I am pleased to report the new alternators with the center fielder making them work together reduced generator run time because we don’t need to run the generator after a trip to top off the battery banks.
When we purchased Lollipop, I was sure I would put solar panels on the pilothouse roof; I even bought the wiring to run from the top to the battery banks. However, I feel solar is unnecessary, as the generator and alternators keep the battery bank fully charged.
The alternator upgrade was pricey but worth it.
